25 Gifted Pupils from Iwollo Communities Sit for National Gifted Entrance Exam | A Day of Hope and Inspiration

Yesterday, May 31st, 2025, 25 of the brightest pupils selected from primary schools across Iwollo communities, including Aguobu Iwollo, proudly represented us at the National Gifted Entrance Examination. This prestigious exam offers a fully-funded Federal Government scholarship throughout secondary school, and for those who excel, the opportunity for a career scholarship abroad.
The Igwe-elect, who covered the registration fees through the Education Fund Initiative he established for children and teenagers in our agrarian region, hosted the pupils after the exam for a refreshing visit to Enugu State Unity Park. There, they enjoyed a moment of bonding and light tourism, a reminder that “all work and no play makes nwata akwukwo a dull pupil.”
The pupils offered heartfelt prayers for the Igwe-elect and one another, and the Igwe-elect, in turn, prayed that they all succeed with flying colors.
In a touching vote of thanks, young Chimamanda Onyia (nwa a muru amu, whose mother hails from Aguobu Iwollo), who came from her school in Enugu to sit for the exam at Federal Government College, Enugu, expressed gratitude to everyone: the child who led the prayer, the teachers, the other pupils, and especially the Igwe-elect and his Lolo.
We also deeply appreciate His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for thoughtfully shifting the monthly Enugu environmental clean-up to allow pupils from Enugu schools to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It shows he understands the importance of ensuring our quota of gifted children is effectively utilized.
The Igwe-elect’s leadership and commitment remind us that true leadership invests in the future of its children. We continue to commend Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his bold investments in basic education, especially through the rollout of Smart Schools across the 260 electoral wards of Enugu State.
This is how we build a future.
This is how we empower greatness.
Long Live Aguobu Iwollo!
Long Live Iwollo!
Long Live Enugu State!
